Jessica, sitter in Torquay

Hi, I'm Jess! :) I am a 27 year old originally from London but recently moved to Torquay from South Wales working in a nursery as a trainee manager full time Monday to Friday. I am looking to offer ad hoc babysitting at weekends. I have always babysat for different families both in the UK and abroad in Gibraltar and would be looking to connect with new families to work with.

I have worked with children aged 9 months up to 14 years in nurseries, schools and as a private nanny. I am a trusted, hard working, caring and reliable person, I have my level 3 in Childcare & Education, a full enhanced DBS, in date paediatric first aid trained, level 2 safeguarding, food and hygiene level 2 and allergens level 2.

I have worked with children for the last 10+ years now and before that was a teenage babysitter. I have had a variety of roles over the years, such as, nursery nurse positions, a preschool room leader both in the UK, then abroad in Gibraltar. I have also been a sole charge nanny working with different family looking after children with different care needs aged 8 months up to 14 years.

My biggest hobbies/loves in life are football, rugby and animals. I love watching sports, going to the park for a kick about, trips to the zoo and exploring nature.

My dream is to combine my two loves of working with animals and working with children and hopefully to one day open my own petting zoo/allotment which will also include a forest school area and will run classes/clubs for children to come in on school trips and/or in the holidays/weekends to learn about the animals on the farm, the food grown on the allotment and to be out with nature.

I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to help with developmental milestones such as Weaning and introducing solids, providing activities such as outdoor/movement activities and arts & crafts to help the development of gross and fine motor skills, potty training and home schooling for children aged 9-13 during covid school closures.
I also have experience working with children who have ADHD, Autism and Diabetes.
