Susie, sitter - TQ2 Torquay

Hi. I'm Susie, 56 years old, and a professional Facilities Manager by occupation.

I have one daughter who is now 38 with two teenaged children of her own. I moved to London when I was 16 to be a Mothers Help for a large (4 kids) family in Islington, then moved to Regents Park to look after 2. I then went on to become a full time Nanny to a 4 year old boy in Fulham. I loved all my charges, even travelled solo with them. When I had my own child all my families pitched in and supported me.

I moved back down to Torquay and stayed until my daughter was 7. Having assessed schools and employment prospects, I moved back up to London to take charge of 2 Children for a politically active family in Wandsworth. I looked after, often sole charge during the week for nearly 4 years, only leaving when the kids went on to secondary education. I am still in regular contact with my ex-charges and can provide references.

I moved back to Torquay in 2000 and my daughter and her family followed a year later. I have been hugely involved with bringing my grandkids up since they were infants, often taking on full weekend care when I could. They are now 17 and 15 and I am enormously proud of the young people they have become, morally, spiritually and personably.

So, that's my childcare experience.. I like inquisitive, sparky and fun kids, love happy little munchkin giggle types!! I am kind, fun and easy going, but will not tolerate rude or aggressive children. I know the difference between overtired and the need for serious time outs..
