Anita, occasional childcare - TS6 South bank

I am a 31 year old part time student. I have two daughters aged 9 and 3. I have a caring and friendly nature and I love working with children. I enjoy teaching, baking and arts and crafts. I am reliable and trustworthy. I have a full DBS check

My current course is equivalent of a level four and level five in supporting teaching and learning in schools. When I have completed my foundation degree I will then go to Teesside University to complete the third year and graduate with a BA (Hons).

From 2012 I have had a placement within a local Catholic school. I attend 2 days a week. Initially I began within the reception class where I spent around six months. At the beginning of September 2012 I moved to year 1 where Spent the following year after which I joined a year 3 class in order to gain a broader experience.

My experience includes working with a student with SEN and 1:1 work within the classroom. I have knowledge of phonics and was involved in delivering the Read Write Inc. programme . I believe in stretch and challenge and encouraging students to work independently where appropriate. I am knowledgeable in current legislation and guidance including Every Child Matters which is being replaced with the children and families’ bill but the aims are still highly relevant in the holistic care of children’s needs.

I understand the importance of legislation especially in relation to safeguarding and special educational needs. I am experienced in behaviour management and strategies to encourage positive behaviours.
