Hello, I'm Danielle and I'm a support worker. I've been a support worker for about 7 years and have worked with a range of ages from 9-59. I'm currently looking for a change of pace and more fun and relaxed work life.
I started off when I was 19 in the United States by working as a family babysitter. I was hired and trained as a personal assistant for one of the children who had autism, but quickly became popular with all the children in the family and so became their babysitter too. There were triplets, ages 9 and they're older sibling, age 11. I collected them from school, arranged leisure activities, cooked, cleaned, played, and tutored three and had separate 1-1 time with the fourth who had autism and physical disabilities. I only stopped being their babysitter because I moved back to the UK after working with them for over a year. I still have my goodbye cards they made me. If you don't mind a long distance phonecall I can give you their number, or even put you in touch over email if you like.
After moving back to Fleetwood, I eventually took a job with an autism service and have been working with adults for some years. I was made a senior staff member in 2014 but have since left the service in 2015. I now work for an agency while I try to break out of support work and into a new career. I also still work with one private client who is a high functioning autistic individual who I can actually give you as a reference if you would like to speak to someone who has known me and been supported by for 5 years now.
I'm qualified in health and social care at level 2 and have lots of training and experience with learning disabilities (specifically autism and duel diagnosis). This gives me a very well rounded background of experience to work with lots of different types of children with their own personalities. I have also got a registered DBS that can be checked without reapplying.
But beyond my professional capacity, I am just naturally a caring and compassionate person. I'm thoughtful of others and always put their needs before mine. I really am the type to go the extra mile. You'll find me to be dedicated, loyal, and reliable as well as fun and a good laugh. I have lots of unique characteristics that children will find fascinating (like my half American half English accent!) and am helpful and kind.
I love art and music, culture and entertainment. I'm always looking for fun things to do and would love any excuse to go to family fun days and events!
I honestly think if you have me the opportunity to get to know you and your children, you'll see that I'm a perfect candidate for looking after your most important little people.
Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you soon!
Occasional babysitting | $8.00 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $7.50 per hour |
I have received similar or higher wages with my support work and believe I can provide more and will be well worth more to a family. I'm extremely dedicated. All totally negotiable, have just put in my base rates.
