Dear Family,

My name is Laura, I am from Colombia. I describe myself as a nice, sociable, responsible, hard worker, creative and ambitious woman. I have a lot of goals to reach, I always think about future without forgetting to live in the present. I hold a Bachelor’s degree as a Bacteriologist (2006). Right now, I am doing a MSc in Molecular Biology and Cell Cancer at the university of Leicester.

I am an easygoing person, I enjoy every single day. I work really hard to peruse my goals. I like hiking, working out, movies, travelling, languages, cooking and reading. I’ve always been involved in social work, trying to help others, nature and animals. I took some courses of alternative therapies which included: Reiki I, II and III, oriental massages, and Ho’oponopono.

I worked as an Au pair in the States for two years, I lived in Michigan for one year. There, I was taking care of 2 kids (3 and 5 years old). I was responsible for bathing, dressing, driving, playing, laundry and making their meals. It was such a wonderful experienced. It was really tough to say good-bye to them. I lived another year in Pennsylvania. I was in charge of 3 kids (set of twins of 9 and an 11 year old boy). The kids were mostly at school; however, I had to help them with homework, driving, laundry, breakfast, and packing their lunch.

It is not always easy to take care of children but it is a great experience to share some time with them. I am really patient with kids. I have the strength to cope with them due to my experience as a science teacher for first grade students in a bilingual school in Colombia and the two years I worked as an Au pair in the USA. I have the strength to set them limits with love and patience, only if it is Necessary. I am polite, hard worker, creative and humorous.

It is a dream of mine to go to study in the U. K and I can combine it with a wonderful and interesting job: to care for your children.
