Hi I'm Bethan,

I'm an enthusiastic individual who loves thinking of and looking for creative, educational activities for myself and others to enjoy.

My previous experience of working with children and young people has been has been both exciting and informative, whilst it has come with its challenges. This experience involves youth work, play work and working within the early years foundation stage, within primary schools, to deliver fun filled, forest school activities.

Within the youth work sector (for 4 years) I have assisted and taken a lead role in the planning, preparation and delivery of engaging activities to help young people grow in confidence and take an active role in their community, as well as growing within themselves. These programmes include problem solving and intergenerational programmes.

As a play worker (for 3 years) I have worked with primary school children, aged 6 and above. As with youth work, I have taken a role in the planning and delivery of programmes to help children grow and learn. The activities involved include educational trips, such as visits to the centre for life, as well as competitive games and creative tasks in arts and crafts and helping to plan and direct their own programmes.

As an assistant outdoor instructor (for 3 years) I have contributed to the delivery of early years foundation stage forest school, to nursery and reception children. I am very passionate about the outdoors and have observed the way in which it can change a child or young person, not only over time but within minutes. The activities involved in forest school are bug hunting, mud kitchen, den building, flower bashing to make pretty pictures and much more. The children always love getting dirty, they wash and so do their clothes! Due to this experience and having to cope under the pressure of large groups with tools and fire, I am extremely confident being left in sole charge of a child or small group of children.

I also have experience in looking after and babysitting cousins, who have never run out of things to do!

I'd love a new experience as a nanny and hope to find a nanny placement soon!
