Martyna, baby sitter - EH7 Edinburgh

My name is Martyna and I am 23 years old. I come from Poland. I have been living in Scotland for over four years and I am on my forth year at the Heriot-Watt University (Environmental Studies).
I am happy to take care of children around 6 years old or older as I have experience of working with them.
My experience of working with children comes from Scout organisation in Poland. I have been a scout since I was seven and I was actively participating in the organisation for almost 12 years.

I have been leader/ volunteer manager of all the scout age groups from 6 till 16 for over three years. My tasks included:
- preparing weekly 2h meetings about different and interesting themes that always included stories, games, singing, playing, using codes and learning
- organising trails in the parks and forests lasting from 1h-5h with a map, compas and points to collect
- organising art evenings and festivals that included: painting, singing, discussions, playing the instruments, preparing group for the festival
- organising and being legally responsible for a group of children/ teenagers on the short camps (1-3 days) and summer scout camps (3 weeks) while I was responsible for all camp programme and activities

I have been also volunteering in High School in the public common room for young children (8-13 years old) in my city, where I was preparing and organising games and activities for them as well as helping with homework and just providing entertainment and support.

Because of my great experiences with children and teenagers from scouting I love working with them. I see lot of great energy, curiosity and passion in them what is very inspiring. I believe every one is different and has different needs and I would be happy to help them with the homework or discovering their hobbys and interest.
