I am just coming to the end of the most incredible year in France, where I have been studying law in a French university in Lyon. Alongside these studies, I babysat for two different families once a week. One of these families consisted of four children, ranging from 2 years old to 10 years old. The other family was a very sweet two year old boy.
I had a really great time looking after these kids, as my experience of looks after children was minimal before this, but I really will miss them. Whilst they are not family, a definite bond has been formed.
I have no qualms with getting involved in the activities with the kids. If I'm perfectly honest, I quite enjoy feeling like a kid again. Anything from imaginary play, to arts and crafts, sports in the garden, reading!
Additionally, I could even try and teach some basics of French. It is a language that I feel extremely passionate about due to a high school teacher of mine and her passion. I think that when passionate about a subject/language or whatever it may be is evident, it is far easier to be inspired.
