I'm aged 42, hold a First Class Hons. in Midwifery. This is my profession. However I'm also a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy trainee and need to increase my income to fund what will be a 4 year training of clinical practice, theory and research.
I consider looking after children and supporting their parents as meaningful work as it engages my interests in a way that fulfils me. I'm a mother myself (my son is now 16) and would describe myself as someone who naturally enjoys caring for others - whatever age, gender and level of ability or health. I'm patient have been described as incredibly calming.
I enjoy the process of getting to know people and finding out what they enjoy. I'm artistic and creative (I paint and from time to time exhibit my work), adore cooking and baking and am one of those odd people who like nothing better than housework.
My favourite things in the world include:
responding to people's needs in a way that honours their individuality
being playful and creative, communicating in a way that bridges interpersonal gaps
making delicious/nutritious food
putting my heart into my whatever work I do
cats as much as kids
