my name is Stephanie,
I have been retired for just over a year, and spend my time looking after my grandson on a regular basis. I have 3 children of my own, and two of them live a distance away, so I visit them as often as I can.
I do drive, and have a car seat for taking my 2 year old grandson to nursery school and back. I love children, and when I first left school, I trained in East Grinstead to look after children which was affiliated to the Church of England Children's Society. I did not however complete any qualification.
I went to public school in Eastbourne, but was never much of an academic, having only passed in two subjects, namely English and Scripture (as it was called in those days!)
I enjoy walking and am a good swimmer , having the use of a free swimming pool and exercise gym where I live.
I have a good sense of humour, and am in good health, which I attribute to good family genes, and being surrounded by young offspring , who make sure I don't vegitate in my retirement.!
I dont find I can cope with long periods of babysitting, but would really like to be able to help someone with their children. I am patient, and have a good affinity with our little generation.

This is the hourly rate i was paid while working full-time with adults with learning difficulties. i have an NVQ in Care, but do not have any official qualifications in childcare. I look after my 2 year old grandson while his mum works, and have him overnight on occasions. If this hourly rate is high, then i could possibly accept less, if essential.
