Kevin, babysitter in Leeds

I am a 64 year old male who works for Leeds City Council as a support worker for people with learning difficulties. I have worked in care provision all of my working life in a variety of settings. I was the 2nd eldest of a family of 12 children so my experience of feeding babies and changing nappies started very early in life. Over the course of my working life I have been a volunteer providing home care for the elderly, worked with handicapped children, blind children and young people and the homeless in my native Dublin.
At the age of 18 years I joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and served in Northern Ireland, Cyprus and BAOR (Germany). On leaving the army I continued care service provision in my main employment and agency work. I have three grown up children and am now a grandfather to a six month old baby girl. I am in my last year of employment before retirement in 2016.

Currently my working day is from 9am to 3pm and I am looking for some extra income in a job that will fit in with work and domestic life. Baby sitting would appear to be an ideal job for me as I love working with children. I was a Cub-scout leader when I lived at Robin Hood's Bay many years ago. I still have a keen interest in the great out doors, camping and survival activities.

I have a full driving licence but sadly no car at the moment so I rely on public transport. I am available Monday to Friday between 5pm and 11pm depending on the last bus service home. I can also cover most week-ends. Ideally I would like to work within a 3 mile radius of home in the Headingley/Kirkstall area.
