Hi, I'm Mae and I am one of seven kids. I thrive in the company of children - they are my greatest teachers because they know only how to be themselves. I love to play, to make up games, read stories, to "go on adventures", to make things and generally be in the world of the imagination.

I have a strong ethos of respect and care for children, I love listening to their ideas and empowering them to be who they are. That said, I am naturally confident and am comfortable to be reasonably firm and directive over discipline, etc.

I am fully up to date in child protection (I used to teach it to professionals), and have a full CRB and DBS check.

I can provide care based from your home, or am happy to take your children out and about depending upon your needs.

EXPERIENCE:
Being raised in a busy household I often had to take care of my siblings, and from the age of 14 was babysitting and taking care of other children in the village, running workshops in drama, assisting at pony camps and childrens choirs and string orchestras.

I taught English and maths to young children with behavioural problems in India and then following my degree in music, I taught singing to children at Stagecoach Theatre School in Plymouth.

My most recent job was 6.5 years as a workshop facilitator for CAP UK, a childrens charity promoting safety and empowerment. We delivered plays and puppet shows promoting children rights to be safe, strong and free.
