I am 26 years old currently working as a teaching assistant, I find that i love interacting with children, I have worked with young people of all ages up to 16 years of age, I have learnt and gained skills on how to challenge behavior in young people. I am very family oriented and love being around kids, I have a big family which means I have a lot of nephews and nieces all ranging from the ages of 0 to 16 years of age, I do occasionally babysit them and also take them to fun days out in trentham gardens, go ape and many more just to keep them busy and also to build relationships with them also having plenty of fun when doing so.
I find great importance in educating young people from the ages of 3 by doing so myself I use educational games and activities to build Intelligence and independence. I tend to read books and sing nursery rhymes to make it more fun and interactive while also possibly making an impact on there intellectual knowledge.
On a day when babysitting I do ensure that the kids are fed on time and help them with their homework when needed, I then use any free time to play games/ ask what they would like to do as their choice is important as it will promote them to have fun. However this is dependant on the nature of the activity as it has to be safe.
When looking after babies I ensure that they are fed on time and that nappys are changed.
I limit their snacks depending on what parents have requested they can have.
I have gained experience in my current job with young people with SEN needs and I am able to work with them safely promoting positive behaviour overall.
I love to be around children as I have a lot of nieces and nephews which I babysit whenever needed.
