9 December 2016 To whom it may concern in respect of Ms Sophie Gouk I have known Sophie for a year and a half in the capacity of a childminder for my granddaughter, Ajna, and she has become a family friend. She is a warm, kind person with a tremendous sense of creativity, fun and adventure. She is also reliable and totally trustworthy. We met Sophie while she was undertaking an art project at the Booth Museum of Natural History while studying for a degree an Art degree. My granddaughter, then aged 3, was fascinated by the colourful sketches Sophie was making of the exhibits and asked a myriad of questions. Part of Sophie’s final project was to collect children’s drawings of the exhibits. She asked my granddaughter if she would like to do a drawing and over several visits and meetings a bond grew between the two of them. Sophie offered to give Ajna art lessons and they were soon producing Venetian-style masks in our kitchen with paint and glitter all over the place. Over the months and on a completely voluntary basis, Sophie helped Ajna develop in many ways, quietly giving her the confidence not only to draw, paint and colour but also to skateboard, climb and act out fun scenarios. At Ajna’s 4th birthday party themed on Disney characters, Sophie turned up with face paints and accessories and played a huge part in making the occasion very exciting and happy for all the children. In short, Sophie is vigilant and sensitive to the moods of young children, inspiring, thoughtful and above all fun to be with. I have no hesitation in recommending her most warmly to you.

I employed Maria to work as a Group Leader for our school Summer Camp in 2014 and 2015. Maria works very well with children, especially younger children (ages 4-7; youngest group at our camp). She has a calm presence and children respond positively to her. She engages directly with the children and is active playing games and quickly responding to all their needs. We are planing to have Maria back at the camp in 2016. I would highly recommend her for any type of child care.
