JOB VACANCIES IN DUFFIELD - Personal (child) care assistants required, to be employed on a casual basis, to look after a local 9 year old girl with complex needs. The child has a mixture of vision, hearing, learning and communication difficulties but is verbal, sociable, ambulant, toilet-trained and fun to work with. Looking for professional, mature, trustworthy and reliable people, living locally, preferably with your own transport and a passion for childcare.

Relevant qualifications are not necessary, but childcare experience essential. The ideal carer would have an outgoing personality and be fit & active to keep up with this energetic little girl. They should enjoy active play, outdoor play, singing nursery rhymes, reading stories & pretend play. Ideally, they will have experience of positive behaviour management as the child can display occasional challenging behaviour such as non-compliance and tantrums (parents can provide detailed guidance and ongoing support). They should be able to work creatively and independently with the child.

Different positions are available:
a) Assistance with daytime hospital appointments is required 7am - 7pm.
b) Evening/weekend/school holiday work in the home; duties will vary, but may include play, assistance with meals and toileting, dressing, bathing and putting to bed.
c) Assistance with school holiday outings to activities such as soft play, parks, swimming, walks, picnics etc.

Enhanced DBS check will be required. The employer will be able to help with this.
Female preferred due to personal care
Variable weekday hours, occasional evenings.
Immediate start available subject to satisfactory interview, DBS check, and references.
£8.50 per hour for age 21yrs and over; younger applicants may apply.
