Manuel, childcare : La Coruña

Hola familias,

Me presento brevemente.

Soy Manu y llevo trabajando con niños en los últimos 7 años. Hace 5 años me mudé a Londres, en dónde he estado cuidando a niños/as de entre 5 meses a 14 años. Entre algunas de muchas otras tareas, mis responsabilidades era recoger a los niños/as en el colegio, ir a actividades extra-escolares, hacerles la cena, jugar con ellos, realización de deberes, enseñanza del español (hablado y escrito), etc, etc, etc.

Mis títulos/educación más relevantes son:

- FPII Educación Infantil (cursando).
- FPII Integración Social.
- Grado en 'Sports, Fitness and Coaching'.

I am home-loving, consistent, fun, honest and reliable boy with the aim of wanting to learn day by day. I am a dreamer and cannot stop working towards my goals, while still having my feet firmly on the ground. I am the oldest amongst the children in my family. Over the years I have built up many hours helping with homework, playing with the younger children in the park or with toys, helping out at parties and even more than what I would have anticipated… changing diapers! I have always lived surrounded by children, hence my passion for wanting to work with them. I love making the most of my time. I am a restless person who has the need to feel useful, valued and I need to constantly be doing some sort of activity. I could say plenty more about me and my life, but since this is only a brief introduction I must leave it here. However I look forward to having the chance to share it with you in the future.

I have been working as an au pair with an English family just outside London. This has been a unique experience, but I needed a change and have the chance to expand my knowledge elsewhere. My last jobs in London was working as a nanny 4 afternoons per week looking after two boys of 12 and 14, and looking a 3 years old and a 6 month old baby some mornings too. I also do babysitting for some families sometimes.

In Spain I have worked for many large companies such as HM, Primark and Ikea, amongst others. My last job was as a monitor and entertainer at children’s parties, where I worked for 9 months spending many hours with children of all ages. This was where I realised my love of working with children and have chosen to follow my passion since first starting this job. I have also worked in Spain as a nanny for 9 months with a girl of 5 and a boy of 6 and still have a very good relationship with the family and children today. All of my past experiences will always be there, which is sometimes more important, in my opinion, than having multiple degrees or past careers!

I have completed my studies of ‘Formación Profesional Superior’ (vocational training, level 3) of Social Integration, where I have learnt how to deal with underprivileged and problematic teenagers, which was very rewarding. I have also studied some child psychology while studying this course, as well as ‘Nutrition, Diet and Sport’ and also first aid.

And I am finishing a degree called "BCs Sports, Fitness and Couching" in the UK. Coursing as well 'Formación Profesional Superior' in 'Educación Infantil'.
