Lucie, childcare in Newcastle upon tyne

I am a kind, confident and hardworking young woman who is always looking for ways to help others. My personality is very bubbly, and many people comment on my ability to maintain a permanent smile. I choose to focus on the blessings we are given in life, than on hardships. I am very close to my family and I cherish the time I have with them, my mother and father both have their own businesses which enables them to always have time for family, and my elder sister is serving in the British Army. With 16 cousins ranging from 6 months to 23 years I have had copious amounts of experience with children of all ages, and thoroughly enjoyed every second. I have also participated in the teaching of children aged 3 to 13 at my local karate school which gave me great satisfaction and further fuelled my love of children. My travels in previous summers have taken me on a volunteering expeditions to Costa Rica and South Africa where I was able to interact with the children, setting up games of football for them, painting with them and teaching them small amounts of English. I also worked as an Au Pair for 5 weeks which encompassed the taking care of the children for long periods of time, and supplied me with copious amounts of experience of taking care of children. My hobbies include anything that keeps me active such as tennis, running and dance, alongside a more liberal interest in activities such as reading, writing and music.

I have the patience needed to engage with children of any age and while indulging in their imaginations, I am able to teach them the mannerisms and social skills they will need for later life. I have a strong love for children that has been present since I was a young girl. I was fortunate enough to have a very fulfilling childhood filled with laughs and smiles, partly due to the people other than my parents who took care of me. Knowing that I made even the smallest contribution to a child's happiness fills me with pride. I love new experiences and meeting new people.

Children are a passion of mine and having the opportunity to take care of children would be a wonderful, enriching experience. Children are the future, and thus need lots of nurture and care to enable them to become caring and bright individuals. I believe that my empathetic nature also helps me to teach children to care for others and to understand what they are going through. My current studying of a degree in Psychology also fuels this desire as everyday I am learning new and fascinating things about the minds of children and how this is such a vital stage of growing.
