My name's Alex and I'm 24. I like to think I'm well educated with 9 GCSEs, 3 A Levels and a degree in Ecology & Wildlife Conservation.
I've grown up in a very musical family, with my dad being a professional opera singer and my sister having sung and played several instruments to a very high level. I too used to play the trumpet to grade 7 standard in both my school jazz band and orchestra as 1st trumpet. It's been a little while since I've played but i'm keen to start it up again.
My mum is more arty so to speak, and I've also got an artistic side as I have developed a skill for pencil drawing. I got 100% in my GCSE Art and have done several portraits for family and friends. I've also sold and had one put up in a gallery near my old school.
As my degree may suggest, I'm very passionate about wildlife and the environment. I've always loved animals and over the course of my degree I developed a particular interest in marine conservation, which led to me doing both my practical placements volunteering abroad with marine conservation organisations.
I'm a huge fan of sports. I played to a very decent level in a number of sports, ranging from tennis and football, swimming and athletics, among several others. I'm also trained in both Muay Thai (kickboxing) and Krav Maga (self defense). Having gained a love of the marine world as mentioned before, I am also now a PADI qualified Rescue Diver. I'm First Aid/EFR trained and generally keep myself very strong with a good level of fitness.
I'm generally a really friendly, fun and outgoing person with a great sense of humour. I'm caring, helpful and attentive and have always loved being around and caring for children (and pets) within the family (cousins). I'm perfectly capable of cooking for myself and have on many occasions cooked for other people.
I've quite recently come back from living, working and travelling around Australia for almost two years, so I'm just looking for some work in the local area to get me going and I figured I've got a lot going for me as a babysitter/carer with regards to my varied experiences, my skills and qualifications, and my overall character.
I hope I can be of some assistance to anyone who's interested!
Thank you
Occasional babysitting | $10.00 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $12.00 per hour |
I figured there'd generally be more to do, ie more chores, tasks etc during a part-time care shift as opposed to a baysitting shift which would more likely be a shorter shift with less to do on the whole. I therefore put a slightly higher rate for part-time care than for babysitting. I'm still willing to negotiate rates with individual clients/parents if need be.
