Ana Clara, foreign au pair in Southampton SO15

Dear Family,

As a medical student, I've learned that care and attention are critical to the development and welfare of the child. For this reason, I understand that babysitting is not so easy as it seems. I also know that taking care of a child or a baby requires a series of responsibilities and I can guarantee that I can support them. I worked as a volunteer helping with computer classes for children between 6 and 10 years at my school in Brazil. I also took care of my cousins ​​and my younger sister, which earned me an experience.

A little bit about me:
My name is Ana Clara. I am a 23 year-old lady and I study Biomedical Sciences at the University of Southampton. I am passionate about working with children, traveling and I just love capturing the world around me through the photography. Besides, I also have a lot of interest in Medicine.

I come from a family of 5: My parents work in a farm in the south of the state of Minas Gerais (Brazil), my twin sister is a undergraduate student in one of the most prestigious schools of Marketing in Sao Paulo and my young sister still live with my parents and still is in high school.

In four years time I will be finishing my degree in Medicine, in Brazil. About this year, I am here in England as part of an exchange program and I expect that this will help me not only improve my academic skills, but also change my perspective of the world. So, at this point of my life, I am focused in having a different life experience, improve my english and I also think it would be an incredible oportunity to learn and offer my help to a family.

My first language is, of course, portuguese and I am also fluent in English. I started learning English while I was six years old and I have spent 7 years having particular lessons every afternoon after school. I have also had most of my modules in English at university. I also speak an beginner level of French and Spanish. I have been taking French classes for the past 2 months. What refers to english, I am sure that my cultural immersion is helping me improve my vocabulary a lot. I am particularly interested in experiencing family life in England, since it offers a cultural context that is undoubtedly different from mine. For this reason, I would very much like to find a nice family to help in England.

When it comes to child care experience, I have looked after children only in informal contexts. But I had already worked as a volunteer in my school helping kids in computer classes. What refers to my personal life I have helped mom looking after my young sister and also my family looking after my cousins. Not only have I changed diapers, but I have also bathed them and prepared their food. I can say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with children.
