Anneliese, home childcare - EX2 Exeter

My name is Anneliese. I am a mature young adult who is full of energy and absolutely adores children. I am an Australian citizen but have recently moved to the UK with my partner.

I have been working as a childcare educator for the past four years. During this time, I have gained significant responsibility, initiative and knowledge on how to care for children. I successfully completed a Certificate III and have begun studying my Diploma in Early Childhood Studies.

I have experience working with children aged 0-12. In addition to working in home day-care, pre-school and nannying circumstances, I was a nursery room leader for a year where we cared for 12 babies every day. The job kept me on my toes and challenged me to think outside the box.

As a childcare educator my philosophy is around play based activities for children to grow and develop. I believe basing activities around children's interests and thinking outside the box creates a fun learning environment for children.

The Australian childcare industry follows a framework called the Early Years Learning Framework, which seems comparable to the UK EYFS. The framework challenges educators to think how a child thinks and respond to their needs and developmental stages. I have always wanted to work with children and believe the skills I have acquired will be very beneficial while caring for your children.

Before moving to the UK, I was working for two separate families caring for their children, my role included: looking after 2 siblings (a newborn and an 18-month-old), as well as sole charge of a one year old. I can provide a current Australian working with children's check (police check) and am happy to undertake the UK DBS check.
