We are looking for a fully qualified, full time, live-in nanny for our two children starting in October/November 2017, ideally for 2 years plus.
The kids:
Our little girl, Poppy, was 3 in June and our baby, Max, is currently 6 months (born in Feb). Both my husband and I work full time (he is a manager at The Post Office and I am a journalist for Al Jazeera English) so we need someone qualified to have sole care of the children from Monday to Friday.
The hours:
Poppy will be at the local nursery every day from 8:45am-3:15pm
throughout the school term but will be around during school holidays.
The daily hours will be 8am-8pm or 7:30am-7:30pm (depending on where
we are with their schedules!) but we would like to have a bit of
flexibility within in that in case one or both of us has to suddenly
work late. We will also require a couple of nights babysitting a week
but again this can be on a flexible basis - some weeks we will use
both, other weeks nothing at all.
Duties will include all the usual things:
Establishing and following routines, bath time and bedtime, cooking,
washing, changing linen, weaning, teaching to speak and read,
organizing play dates, school collection, helping with homework, planning interesting things to do etc.
It would be useful, though not essential, if our nanny could drive.
In terms of qualifications we'd be looking for:
Certificate or Diploma in Childcare and Education OR
Level 3 Diploma in Home-based Childcare
A current police check or DBS check
A current paediatric first aid certificate
Contactable verbal references from previous childcare positions
Salary:
£400 per week net plus food
Location:
We live in a lovely family house in Stoke Newington with a big garden,
5 mins from Clissold Park, overlooking a reservoir, plus we are just
10 mins walk from Stoke Newington Church Street with all its shops,
cafes and restaurants.
Accommodation:
Our nanny will have their own double room, bathroom and kitchenette on
the top floor so both of us can have our independence in the evenings
and weekends.
Transport:
The transport links are good with Manor House tube a 10 min walk and
Finsbury Park a 15 min walk, plus lots of good buses and the overland
not far away.
I am currently on maternity leave but plan to return to work full time
in January 2018 with a soft start from November 2017 once the family is settled.
