We have 2 children at 2 different schools which are just less than 2 miles apart. One school finishes at 15:20 and the other at 15:30.
Carer would need to be able to drive between 2 locations to collect children.
Carer would return to our house and look after children (this would involve some time for them to play by themselves, a short period of TV / games, they would need to complete a few exercises in maths / English, and they would need to be fed [food would be pre-prepared]).
Usually parents would be home at 18:00 latest, but there may be the very rare occasion where it's a slightly later finish time.
