I have just completed HNC Care and Administrative Practice (Clinical Route) and currently unemployed.

Out of school I have had two placements in work experience. The first one I attended was a nursery which involved working alongside a qualified staff team, partaking in duties relating to children’s education and learning. The second placement I had was in a day centre for adults with learning difficulties and this involved working with staff in various types of settings, dealing with day to day tasks for adults with learning difficulties, social and recreational pursuits I had to learn alternative forms of communication and was mad more aware of learning and physical disabilities. The day centre also created and promoted independence for service users. I really enjoyed both of these placements and they contributed to my decision to do the course that I have recently completed which is: ‘HNC Care and Admin - Clinical route’. I completed two 13 week placements. The first placement I was on was a rehabilitation ward for stroke patients. I gained a lot of knowledge during my first placement as well as my second placement which was in a nursing home for the elderly. All of these placements have contributed to me becoming a more confident person as well as being able to manage my time and workload better. I also worked in a restaurant as a waitress and front of house team member. I worked here part time and have gained more knowledge and now have experience in the hospitality industry. I am now very confident in talking to customers and trying to upsell.

I have two sisters aged 2 and 4. I was my mum's birthing partner at the age of 14 and again when i was 16. My mum is a single parent so i help alot with my siblings. I cook for them, take them to nursery, play with them etc. I have alot of experience looking after babies and children. I know how to make bottles, feed babies, bath babies, change them, calm them. I also have an older sister at 21 with learning difficulties. As well as having caring experience at home i have this educationally and was studying nursing at Glasgow Caledonian University but due to personal problems which i am happy to explain if required, i am no longer at university.
