Nikki, occasional childcare in Ballyvelton

Hi

I am single mum and raised my son, who is now 17 1/2 years on my own. He attends Grammar school, is doing his A levels, has a black belt in Karate & has just passed his driving test.

His success is a reflection of all the morals/discipline/motivation/self belief I have instilled in him over the years. A result of my nurturing, discipline, determination to succeed and motivate shines through in the person he has become.

When I left college I became a nanny/house keeper for a doctor and health visitor I stayed with them for 5 years and we are still great friends to this day. The 2 children are now successful doctors and they still have a great fondness for me.

A few years ago I decided to go back to child care, I became a registered childminder and did my Level 3 diploma in children's care Learning and development.

I am now self employed doing admin work and have some spare mornings/afternoons free to look after children.

I take a holistic approach to every child and ensure all of their needs are met e.g. emotional, physical, social. I am very out doors so when the weather is good the kids will be at the park, beach, forest....I also like to discover what kids are good at and build on that skill, I also do a mental assessment of the child and if I think a child lacks e.g. self-confidence I will build on that so the child become more confident and happy within themselves.

I am very much focused on the child and ensure they have boundaries, skills, self-confidence & self worth.
