I am a Psychology graduate with a First class degree from The University of Manchester and an A-Level in Health and social care at grade A. I am a hard working individual who is highly personable, responsible, friendly and caring. I have experience working with children aged 6-11 and 12-15 as a youth club assistant. I am very passionate about children’s wellbeing and I understand the responsibilities that accompany the role of a babysitter. I hope to study a doctorate in Educational/child Psychology in the future because I am very interested in the science of learning. As well as the above mentioned experience, I also have work experience with vulnerable individuals with challenging behaviours having worked as the lead Mental Health Activities coordinator for Rochdale and District Mind. During my time working for Mind, I have gained the following qualifications which I believe have further added to my skill set and have increased my competency and knowledge of working with vulnerable individuals: (1) Community Mental Health Work certificate, (2) NHS Health Chats Award in Understanding Health Improvement, (3) Assist Applied Suicide Intervention Skills training, (4) Mental Health and Wellbeing training. Furthermore, I have experience in the Education sector having worked as an Education counsellor for the past 1.5 years. I am currently studying a part-time course in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the University of Bolton which upon completion will allow me to practise as a fully qualified CBT therapist. Furthermore, I have also worked as a Dementia Family Link Liaison for Rochdale & District Mind in the past and I believe that the skills that I acquired during this position can be highly advantageous to the present role because it has taught me to be patient, compassionate and accountable. I believe that my educational background combined with my wide ranging work experience and caring nature makes me a suitable candidate for this position and I am hopeful that you will find enough reasons to consider me.
