My choice to become a childminder stemmed from having my own childminder for many years. I saw and experienced first hand the difficulties for parents and children and decided should I have the chance I would put what I had learnt into practice and establish myself as a childminder, working to make things easier for child and parent. So when the opportunity arose for me to pursue it as a career, I decided to go for it.
I now work closely along side my husband Alan who works as my assistant, having taken his Unit 1 Cache, Paediatric first aid course, and Food Safety, and my three children Kyle, Connor and Lochlan.
I have a degree in English Literature and have studied with Tinies nursery care for my Cache (Council for Awards in Children’s Care and Education) certificate, passing Unit 1 (Introducing Childminding Practice) in 2010. I have also completed my Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People. I have passed my Unit 2 food hygiene course, I am a member of the PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years), registered with OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education), obtaining my Outstanding grade in November 2015, and have been police checked, first-aid trained, and carry public liability insurance.
Please note that we offer outings, breakfast, snacks, and a cooked lunch, all included in our hourly fee for those that require it.
