Claire, registered childminder - NE62 Guide post

My name is Claire and I would like to welcome you to Claire's Childminders. I am registered with the Northumberland Church of England Academy Childminding Agency.
I have been working with children for over ten years, eight years of this in Special Educational Needs (SEN) supporting children up to the age of 11 years old.
My experience of working with children started whilst I was studying for my GCSEs. I realised how much I enjoyed being with them and how I could contribute to their development. Since then, I have gained various qualifications and have decided to make it my career. Most of my work has been providing one to one support for children with Special Educational Needs in a school, as well as providing respite outside of school hours. I have also worked in a Breakfast and After school club.
I decided to become a Northumberland Church of England Academy registered childminder as I love what I do but I wanted a new challenge and as I am working alone while doing my respite care, I feel this would compliment what I already do.
I understand it can be difficult to find the right person to look after your children, but having worked in schools for many years, I have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and understand the importance of building up positive relationships to support them to become confident and happy children in a safe and caring environment.
I receive on – going support and professional development from the Northumberland Church of England Childminding Agency who also grade my service on an annual basis.
