Jessica, nanny in West kensington

Hi, I'm Jess. :) I am level 3 qualified in Childcare and Education. I have a full DBS and fully paediatric first aid trained.

I am an honest, trustworthy, self-motivated and reliable person. I adapt well in different situations whether they be a more structured or relaxed environment and I enjoy a challenge. I always put 100% effort into everything I do and I will do any task to the best of my ability. I am enthusiastic, friendly and co-operative both in and out of a work environment and I believe this is due to good communication skills.

I have been working with children in a variety of settings from households as a nanny to nurseries as a baby-room carer and both toddler and preschool teacher/room leader since leaving school. Working throughout the different age groups has helped me to become quite confident early on about the different development milestones and objectives for children of different ages to reach.

For the past 5 years almost, I had been living abroad. When I first moved abroad, I was the room leader in a preschool room and for the final 2 and a half years I was the nanny to a very lovely family with 2 girls, (one on the spectrum). The girls got to the age where they were becoming more independent, therefore the family no longer needed me, this is why I then moved back to London to continue progressing my career within the childcare industry. The family I was with became my family away from home, I had a very strong individual connection with all members of their family which I believe is very important when working with children, especially as a nanny as you are in the child's environment. This not only ensures the child/s in your care are totally comfortable with you, but it also means you can communicate and work a lot better with the parents/carers ensuring the very best for the child/s. This is something that I would be looking for again ideally as I am looking for a permanent long-lasting role.

A few of my favourite pass times include watching sports, particularly football and rugby, going to the park for a kick about or walks with the dogs and regular trips to the zoo as I love animals. I enjoy exploring nature and when I was living in Spain, I would go on hikes every couple of weeks when the weather was nice. I am also a massive animal lover; I have two dogs of my own who came back from Spain to London with me.

My ultimate goal in life is to continue my career within childcare, gaining the experience, knowledge and qualifications along the way to one day open up my own nursery and/or nannying agency.
