Danielle, sitter in Northampton

My name is Danielle and I am originally from Canada. I have come to Northampton to study my BSc in Occupational Therapy.

I am looking for part-time or casual work as a babysitter somewhere close to my home. I have been babysitting for over 20 years. I started off babysitting for my parents friends, then grew into a part-time position babysitting for my neighbour. After a few years, during the change in my career, I worked full-time as a nanny for two young boys. There I met another family I started working for on a part-time basis looking after their 2 kids. I continued to work for that family for 5 years. Initially it was part-time hours (approx 30 hours per week), then became a little more casual as the kids grew older.

I enjoy working on arts and crafts with kids. Not only do I run arts and crafts groups on mental health wards in my healthcare job, I also paint and sculpt as a hobby. I can play video games with children. I'm not too fond of the killing ones, but sports or brain games are good. I also play a variety of board games, outdoor and indoor sports, and, helping them with homework. There are many more activities in which I enjoy and have practise with, although listing them would be quite exhaustive for possible parents to read.
