I am currently looking for work 2-4 days per week part time starting at the end of February/beginning of March
Hi, I’m Evie! I'm a fun, open-minded, reliable and honest person looking to find a short term job as a nanny.
I am DBS checked and have a full drivers license.
For about 5 months (beginning March 2021) I spent my time caring for a 2.5 year old, and occasionally their younger newborn sibling too for a few hours here and there. My main care was the 2.5 year old and we spent lots of time doing hands on activities and going out and about on days out, but I did often spend around 3hours looking after both of them. We did lots of activities together and also independently: sand, grains, water-play, etc. We also did lots of days out: farm parks, lakes, parks, soft play, woods, etc. I loosely used a Montessori and gentle parenting approach with this role. I had some newborn and young baby experience throughout my time here too.
I also did a short term 2week role (before going to university) looking after a 20month and 5 year old helping with evenings and bedtimes. We also got to go on a couple of outings too.
For about 5 months (beginning in November 2020) I looked after 7&9 year olds, taking them to and from school, helping out with mealtimes and homework and general day to day duties. I cooked a variety of meals catered around multiple different allergies.
I was a dance teaching assistant to 4/5 year olds at my local dance school ( for about 3 months before covid began).
I love travel, my favourite trips being 3 weeks in Thailand and a week sailing in Greece! I also love animals - I have 2 cats and 2 dogs (cavapoos!). Baking and cooking are things I enjoy doing in my free time (I can’t eat dairy so I have been enjoying finding dairy free recipes for some of my favourite foods - I make some good brownies!) I have recently gotten back into reading - I’m currently reading the Harry Potter Series.
I have recently been studying musical theatre on a foundation year in London, but due to an injury have had to drop out. With recovery I hope to eventually go on to do a degree.
I have always spent time around children, my parents actually were foster carers when I was young so I have been around children from all backgrounds. I have worked as a nanny from November 2020 to September 2021.
I like to loosely follow Montessori and gentle parenting styles (I am not trained in either, but from research this is what I resonate with most), and enjoy letting the child take the lead. Spending time outdoors is important to me so ideally I would like a family who is happy for me to take their child/children out and about and are happy for us to make a little mess (all cleaned up afterwards!)
