I have a 10 years’ experience of working with children as a Childcare Assistant in two community organisations: the Angelou Centre and Roshni, as a Play Worker With Sure Start in the Nunsmoor Centre and as a Mid-Day Supervisory Assistant in the Westgate Hill Primary school. In my role as a Childcare assistant in the Angelou Centre I took responsibility to plan and supervise the delivery of co-ordinated programmes of activities and learning opportunities to children of different age range where progress is carefully monitored. My role also involves supporting children’s development using regular observations and assessment and identifying children’s interests and making this a starting point to extend their learning and development through exploration and play. In addition I am responsible for the wellbeing of children in my care thus implementing the setting’s Health and Safety policy including undertaking risk assessments before undertaking any activity and adhering to childcare policies and procedures to safeguard children as well as implementing the setting’s policies.

I have the experience of working within the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage and participated in making its implementation successful in my work place through making the setting more inclusive, being responsive to children emotional and physical needs including, welcoming children and their parents warmly, building strong partnerships with children parents and professionals and supporting children’s development through observation, assessment and planning thus making children’s learning effective, exciting and progressive in all the 7 areas of development.

I speak Arabic which will support the setting to be more inclusive and engage a wider range of the community and consequently widen the access to the setting. My skills will also support the setting to promote equal opportunities.

I have up to date certificates in Fist Aid, Food and Hygiene and Safeguarding.

I am passionate in my role in working with children and would like to use my skills, experience and knowledge in a nursery setting. I am enthusiastic, creative, flexible and able to work as part of a team or on my own initiative. I possess very good communication skills with children and adults. I am always committed to undertaking further trainings to enhance my skills and knowledge. I have very good organisational skills with an excellent time keeping. I am quick to learn new skills and capable to make a positive contribution to my place of work.
