Helen, childcare - IV36 Rafford

Hello there, my name is Helen.
I am 21 years old and am a very bubbly and caring person. I am extremely family orientated, I have two young nephews that I’ve looked after from a very early age, yes its hard work looking after small children, but that's what I want to do in life! Seeing them grow and learn is an amazing thing! When I was 15 I volunteered in a local nursery, it was one of my most favourite experiences. I really enjoyed helping out here, I liked being giving tasks and organising play times. I worked with children ages one years old to five years old. I really enjoyed helping out, making things, reading to them and helping with numbers and letters. I did this for roughly nine months, I had to stop as the nursery closed and relocated elsewhere. Around January time, 2013, I applied to work in a care home, Mains House in Newtonmore. When working in this care home, I learnt new skills, built up my confidence and met some truly amazing people. My tasks in this job involved: Supporting individuals with feeding and drinking, providing the best possible personal care, promoting independence, oral care, nail care, feet care, bathing grooming, care plans, key worker, nutrition champion. As time went on and I grew older, I started to think about what I REALLY wanted to do, I thought, I absolutely adore children! So that was that, that's what I wanted/ needed to do in life. I left the family home in 2015 and moved to Forres to be with partner since then I have been trying my hardest, all over, to find a job working with children, but its proving very difficult. This has resulted in me working in an office until I find my “Dream Job”, would you be willing to help/give me a chance? Open to full time hours.
